Other Rivers. There are a good number of high mountain lakes in Southern Alberta that are ready for the most rugged of fly fishermen.

The Oldman, Livingstone, Highwood, and Sheep rivers are all good fisheries between the Crowsnest and Bow rivers. We spend our time fishing these rivers in their mountain settings west of the eastern slopes, where it is not uncommon to view bighorn sheep, elk, deer, and moose while we wade through these beautiful valleys. Cutthroat Trout are abundant in these rivers, growing to sizes upwards of 18 to 20 inches, along with Brook and Rainbow Trout. These rivers are our favourite places to fish for Bull trout. Although these trout are not as plentiful as the Cutthroats, the Bull Trout demands respect in these mountain waters, reaching sizes of 24 to 26 inches.

If you're looking for an exciting day of walk and wade, with breath-taking scenery, we highly suggest trying out these beautiful rivers during the summer months, when you'll be casting dry flies to rising trout as the sun sets behind majestic snow capped mountain peaks.
