We offer a multitude of fly fishing options for you to chose from. Come float the world famous Bow River for rainbows and browns that reach sizes in access of 27''s and weights between 8-10 lbs. Take one of our walk and wade trips to the popular Crowsnest and Livingstone rivers, nestled in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies. If your looking for more excitment we offer our guests an opportunity to experience the beautiful Rockies, and fish high alpine lakes, aboard horses or helicopters. One day trips or multiday tours gives you the option to stay as long as you would like.
May and June are definitely the 2 best months in the year to consistently catch huge browns over 20''. With the run of rainbows leaving the river up the tributaries to spawn the Bow becomes a heaven for large browns to feed freely without competition. These are also 2 months that the river has the least amount of pressure from anglers due to higher and cloudy waters which is prime conditions for big shy browns. If your looking for a trophy of a lifetime you should consider May and June on the Bow!
The ''Blue Ribbon''section of the Bow River is world renowned, and for a good reason. Southern Alberta Fly Fishing Outfitters fishes this 55 km stretch from MacKenzie style drift boats because of lack of accessibility due to private land. Our walk and wade trips take you into forest covered areas where mountain rivers and streams, filled with hunger Cutthroat Trout, wind their way out to the prairies.
Climb aboard one of our trusty mountain horses and ride thru some of the most beautiful country in the Rockies on your way to an alpine lake situated between two mountain peaks on the Continental Divide. Dry fly to rising Cutthroats from shore or our newly designed float tubes. Packages designed for the novice to experienced riders.
Last but not least are our famous alpine helicopter fishing tours. You will be flown over glacier top mountains to one of our many hidden jewels were you will have the choice of fishing for Cutthroat and Bull Trout as well as the ever so rare Golden Trout. Canada has only 5 Golden Trout lakes and we are privileged to fish 3 of them. Let Southern Alberta Fly Fishing Outfitters have the pleasure of being your host on your next fishing vacation.
